Eden AI offers VERN AI Emotion Detection solutions on its platform amongst several other NLP Technologies. We want our users to have access to multiple AI engines and manage them in one place so they can reach high performance, optimize cost and cover all their needs.
There are many reasons for using multiple AI APIs :
You need to set up an AI API that is requested if and only if the main AI API does not perform well (or is down). You can use the confidence score returned or other methods to check provider accuracy.
After the testing phase, you will be able to build a mapping of AI vendors' performance that depends on the criteria that you chose. Each data that you need to process will be then sent to the best API.
This method allows you to choose the cheapest provider that performs well for your data. Let's imagine that you choose Google Cloud API for customer "A" because they all perform well and this is the cheapest. You will then choose Microsoft Azure for customer "B", a more expensive API but Google performances are not satisfying for customer "B". (this is a random example)
This approach is required if you look for extremely high accuracy. The combination leads to higher costs but allows your AI service to be safe and accurate because AI APIs will validate and invalidate each other for each piece of data.

VERN AI is a patented, real time emotion recognition system that is used by award winning customer service and mental health applications. We started our company in 2019, after discovering that sentiment analysis was woefully inadequate for conversational design.
We were inspired to create VERN AI to enable care providers akin to Disney’s “Big Hero 6,” and originally we created VERN so that my elderly grandmother could have a companion. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to complete VERN when she died. But, the “why” lives on and we try to provide empathy in everything we do.
VERN AI provides emotion recognition at scale. We offer connectivity with VERN through API, on-premises, and on a chip set (which we have patented).
To use VERN, simply send a sentence to us, and we’ll return the query back to you through JSON. The query will come back with analysis on Fear, Anger, Sadness, and Love/Joy. The scores are confidence scores and range from 0-100; with 51% confidence the threshold for a positive detection in most cases.
VERN AI is made to be real-time, to analyze conversations as they happen. It doesn’t need to train on data to work, it can analyze right out of the box. VERN AI incorporates a model of emotions based on neuroscience, and not psychology, which makes it more accurate and less prone to false negatives and positives.
Humans are emotional creatures. Humans use computers. However, computers can’t understand emotions. Therefore, wherever a human and computer meet is a use case for VERN.
